THE FILM

An exploration of the ordinary and the monstrous. Elephant Parade approaches its subject through an observational, meditative lens. Inspired by the poetic realism of The Thin Red Line and the intimate psychological storytelling of Blue Ruin, the film finds its tension not in spectacle, but in silence, routine, and the gradual erosion of control.

The beauty of the everyday world becomes an unsettling counterpoint to the darkness beneath it. Sunlight through curtains, the movement of trees, the sounds of a suburban neighborhood, and the quiet intimacy of family life exist alongside an increasingly disturbing psychological descent.

The result is a film less concerned with the mechanics of murder than with the nature of desire, identity, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are.
